My Story

How I got my start

A 17-year-old girl with determination and wild creativity!

My business, located in Ankeny, Iowa, started out as a hobby for myself to enjoy creating things and decompress from everyday life. At first, I made unique gifts for my family and friends to appreciate. But, as time went on my skills improved and my friends started asking me to make custom gifts for them. BAM! I got my first paid order and since then I have wanted to grow into something more significant than a small-ish town artist.

I continued to make different items and broadened my creativity. I started working for a small consignment shop, Tweedle Dee's, in Ankeny and decided to see if the owner would like to put some of my work in her shop. She said YES and since then I have been selling my one-of-a-kind items in the store. Of course, I am the type of person to go big or go home. So, I talked with my parents, who had a small business of their own, to get some insight on what I could do to make my business grow. One thing lead to another and that is where I am now: a Website, Etsy, Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook!

I really appreciate my parents, friends, and family for encouraging me to take my creativity to another level. A big thank you to my Dad for making a website, as well as a logo, for a home base for my creativity. Lastly, a thank you to all who support my small business!

About the Logo and Slogan

I have many nicknames between my family and friends that my dad wanted to incorporate into the business name. He chose the most used nickname from my family, Mad Bear, and came up with a logo to support it. The slogan came from my ability to do a lot of different art mediums.
